JonesZylon was founded with a focus on creating high-quality plastic products for the healthcare industry. Our journey began with the manufacturing of hospital plastics, including our iconic blue bedpan, which quickly became a staple in healthcare facilities. We expanded our offerings to include durable plastic dinnerware and developed a comprehensive line of hospital admission kits, ensuring convenience and efficiency for medical professionals and patients alike.
In the 1990s, JonesZylon expanded into the corrections market with a line of plastic dinnerware, providing durable and cost-effective solutions for correctional facilities. We established a national sales organization and secured a GSA contract for federal government sales. This decade also marked the introduction of innovative products such as co-polymer material and high-temperature trays, and we successfully entered the Canadian market, growing our international footprint.
The 2000s saw JonesZylon's continued growth, with our sales of sporks reaching 1 million per year. We introduced unique drying racks with inserts and expanded our product line to include meal delivery carts compatible with JZ dinnerware, offering a complete 'system solution' for foodservice providers. This decade also marked the development of our MaxFlex line of safety dinnerware, designed to enhance safety and ease of use in healthcare and institutional settings.
In the 2010s, JonesZylon continued to innovate with the development of the Spoondle portion control tool and the Build-a-Tray custom tray products, addressing the need for customized meal solutions. We expanded into the Mexican market and underwent new ownership, becoming a standalone business. This decade also saw the launch of the Re•cover line of patient experience admission kits, aimed at enhancing the overall patient experience and streamlining healthcare processes.
